Seaforth Athlete Competes At Milano Cortina 2026
Seaforth athlete Dave Miln is representing Australia in para biathlon and para cross-country skiing at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics in Italy.
The Games are taking place from 6 to 15 March 2026, with Miln competing in the LW12 sport class in the sitting category. His events include races in both para biathlon and para cross-country skiing disciplines.
Miln currently resides in Seaforth and began competing in adaptive winter sport in 2024, the same year he made his Australian debut.
From Accident To Adaptive Sport
Miln sustained serious injuries during a family skiing holiday in the United States in 2022. The incident occurred when he fell while protecting his young daughters from a snow removal machine.
The accident resulted in the amputation of one leg above the knee and the other below the knee. Following rehabilitation, Miln transitioned into adaptive winter sport as a sit-skier and began competing internationally.
Miln is also a serving member of the Australian Defence Force and has spent many years in military service, including time with British forces before continuing his career in Australia.

Invictus Games Success
Miln’s progression in adaptive sport included participation in the 2025 Invictus Games, where he won a silver medal in biathlon. During the event he also served as Australia’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
The result marked a significant milestone in Miln’s sporting journey leading into the Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics.

Manly Snowboarder Adds Experience To Team
Miln is joined in the Australian team by Manly para snowboarder Ben Tudhope, who is competing at his fourth Winter Paralympic Games.
Tudhope first competed at the Paralympics in Sochi 2014, shortly after turning 14, becoming Australia’s youngest Winter Paralympian. He has since competed at PyeongChang 2018, Beijing 2022, and Milano Cortina 2026.
At the 2026 Games, Tudhope secured a silver medal in the men’s Para snowboard cross SB-LL2 event and later added a bronze medal in the men’s banked slalom SB-LL2 event.

Seaforth Represented On The International Stage
Miln’s debut places Seaforth among the Australian communities represented at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics.
Alongside Tudhope from nearby Manly, the Seaforth athlete forms part of Australia’s team competing across multiple winter sports disciplines at the Games.
