A 16-year-old boy faced a children’s court after a dangerous police pursuit that started in Seaforth and ended with a crash in Mosman.

NSW Police reported that the incident began late Thursday night when Northern Beaches Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers patrolled the Wakehurst Parkway in Seaforth. They spotted a ute speeding and discovered it had been reported stolen from Terrey Hills in November.
When police tried to pull the ute over in Balgowlah, the driver sped off, leading them on a chase across the Spit Bridge towards North Sydney. Due to the dangerous driving, police stopped the pursuit near Falcon Street, but later found the ute crashed on Earl Street in Mosman.

The 16-year-old boy, believed to be the driver, was arrested near the crash site. He was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with several offences, including exceeding the speed limit by over 30km/h, failing to stop for police, reckless driving, a stolen vehicle, and driving without a licence. The teenager was refused bail and appeared before a children’s court on Friday.
Police believe another person was in the ute during the pursuit and are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the incident or the second person involved is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
