Seaforth Anglican Church is marking 150 years with a community open day and a creative ideas competition, inviting locals to help shape what comes next.



Seaforth Anglican Marks 150 Years with Community Celebration

Seaforth Anglican Church will commemorate its 150th anniversary with a program of official events from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October 2025.

The occasion, recognising the church’s establishment in 1875, will combine reflection on its history with engagement in the community’s future.

Program of Events

The program will open on Friday evening with a formal gala dinner for past and present parishioners. The Rt Rev Dr Glenn Davies will deliver the keynote address.

On Saturday, the parish will host a Community Open Day from 10 am. Attendees will be invited to explore a historic display, enjoy family activities, and connect with the local community. At 12 pm, competition winners will be formally announced.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday at 10 am with a thanksgiving service led by Bishop Chris Edwards. Following the service, a community brunch will provide an opportunity for fellowship and conversation.

Community Competition

A highlight of the anniversary is a community-wide competition centred on the theme: What does our community need most in 2025?

Entries may be submitted in any creative format. Categories include Under 10, Junior (11–18), and Senior (18+). All work must be original. Submissions close at 5 pm, Friday 17 October, and can be sent by email to office@seaforthanglican.org.au or delivered to the church office. Entrants should include their name, contact number, and age category.
