Sales Boom for Heaps Normal, A New Seaforth-Developed Non-Acoholic Beer

Sales have been booming for Heaps Normal, a non-alcoholic beer concocted by four friends from Seaforth and surrounds. The product simulates the real thing well enough to be convincing, even to beer aficionados.



Heaps Normal was so successful at recreating the qualities of beer that a group of sommeliers who were asked to blind test the beer and gauge its alcohol content declared themselves impressed by how closely it mimicked the real thing. Most estimates landed at 4.5 per cent alcohol, but the real answer was a flat zero. 

This non-alcoholic beverage comes with none of the drawbacks that come from regular beer consumption such as hangovers, impairment, or the risk of alcohol poisoning.

Peter Brennan, the Head of Brand and one of the four co-owners of Heaps Normal, hails from Seaforth. He shared that developing the non-alcoholic beer was a personal journey for him because he grew up with an alcoholic father.

Brennan hopes the product will help promote mindful drinking whilst simultaneously assisting those wanting to quit or cut down on their alcohol intake by providing them with a safe and viable alternative. 

Heaps Normal also allows people to enjoy a few drinks with their friends late at night and still get up early the following day, hangover free. 

As of late, the company’s sales have spiked, attracting quality investors. As a result, Heaps Normal is now available at 400 independent stockists all across Australia. According to Brennan, there has been a 200 per cent month-on-month sales increase. 

Shortly after their launch in July 2020, their second batch of non-alcoholic beer sold out two weeks before the next batch was ready.
