A new bike park proposed for Seaforth Oval Reserve is giving local riders and residents a chance to help shape an outdoor recreation space designed for intermediate to advanced riding.
Seaforth Bike Park Plan Opens To The Community
A new bike park proposed for Seaforth Oval Reserve is moving through a key feedback stage, with locals invited to review the draft concept design before the project advances to detailed design and construction planning.
The proposed Seaforth bike park is intended to create a dedicated outdoor riding space for intermediate to advanced riders in the southern part of the Northern Beaches. The project responds to an identified gap in off-road cycling facilities and aims to provide a place where local riders can build confidence, develop skills and connect with others who use the reserve.
Comments on the draft concept design opened on Thursday 14 May 2026 and will close on Thursday 11 June 2026. Feedback can be submitted through the online comment form, by email or in writing.

A Riding Space Focused On Progression
The draft concept places skill development at the centre of the Seaforth bike park proposal. Rather than a simple riding loop, the plan points to varied trail experiences, designed lines and progression areas that would allow riders to improve over time.
The bike park is being planned for intermediate to advanced riders, with the broader reserve setting also allowing riders and spectators to spend time outdoors. The project material describes the design approach as durable and low erosion, with sustainability considered as part of the proposed layout.
A dedicated design group has already helped shape the concept, and the current feedback period gives the wider community an opportunity to review the plan before the project moves further.
Long-Term Planning At Seaforth Oval Reserve
The Seaforth Oval Reserve bike park sits within a longer planning process for the reserve. The project aligns with the Seaforth Oval Reserve Plan of Management adopted in late 2025, which set out a framework for how the reserve could be used, protected and improved over time.
It also reflects the Let’s Play! Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy and Action Plan from 2022, which identified demand for more informal recreation opportunities, including an intermediate to advanced bike park.
The proposal is framed around active outdoor use, broader recreation choices and a more even spread of bike facilities across the area. It also responds to growing interest in spaces where young people and local riders can take part in informal outdoor activity.

Feedback To Shape The Next Stage
As of the latest project update, 100 online comments had been received. That number is manually updated and remains indicative until the final report is published, with duplicate submissions counted as one unique submission.
After the feedback period closes, responses are expected to be reviewed in mid 2026. A summary of the feedback and next steps is planned for mid to late 2026.
The consultation has also been shared within the local mountain biking community, including by Garigal Gorillas MTB Club, which circulated the call for comments before the closing date. The current stage offers a chance to look closely at the proposed bike park and have input before the design is refined.
